8. UPDATE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
A. REDEVELOPMENT STRATEGY COMMUNITY WORKSHOP ON
NOVEMBER 4, 2010
Executive Director Pulido provided information on the Redevelopment
Strategy Community Workshop hosted by Seifel Consulting to be held
on November 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gymnasium of the First
Baptist Church of Temple City, located at 6019 Baldwin Avenue.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide the Agency's consultant
(Seifel) with an opportunity to present their initial findings and
specifically address the following opportunities:
1) Leveraging the existing redevelopment tools through June 2015,
when the Rosemead Boulevard Redevelopment Plan is currently
scheduled to end;
2) Lengthening the time frame during which various redevelopment
tools can be used through the potential amendment of the
redevelopment plan; and
3) Expanding the City's Rosemead Boulevard redevelopment project
area to include additional properties that are in need of
revitalization.
The meeting will also serve as a forum for gathering input from the
general public, as well as business and property owners, on how to
more effectively capitalize on opportunities and address the most
critical challenges facing the downtown and other business areas.
Flyers with additional information are available on the City's website,
and will be provided to businesses by the Chamber of Commerce.
