CITY COUNCIL TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES NOVEMBER 18, 2010 1 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Vizcarra called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. in the City Council Conference Room at City Hall, 9701 Las Tunas Drive, Temple City. 2. ROLL CALL PRESENT: ABSENT: Councilmember-Blum, Sternquist, Yu, Chavez, Vizcarra Councilmember-None ALSO PRESENT: Public Safety Officer Ariizumi, City Clerk Flandrick 3. INTERVIEWS FOR PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION The City Council interviewed eight applicants for five seats on the newly restated Public Safety Commission. The eight applicants were recommended by the Council Ad Hoc Committee composed of Mayor Pro Tem Chavez and Mayor Vizcarra. The Ad Hoc Committee reviewed all eighteen applications, interviewed seven of the applicants and recommended eight applicants for an interview before the full Council. The following eight candidates interviewed for the five seats on the Public Safety Commission: Brian Baudendistel, Samuel Magluyan, Robert Young, Nicholas Stratis, Robert Hepler, Patricia Shen, Jim Clift, and Ousama Nimri. At the conclusion of the interviews, Council deliberated and concurred to appoint Brian Baudendistel, Nicholas Stratis, Patricia Shen, Jim Clift and Ousama Nimri to the Public Safety Commission. They will be formally approved by resolution and sworn into office at the next City Council meeting of December 7, 2010. 4. ADJOURNMENT The City Council Special Meeting adjourned at 10:03 p.m. to the City Council Regular Meeting on December 7, 2010, in the Council Chambers, 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City.
