SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS — MEETING OF
NOVEMBER 17, 2010
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
Actions.
BACKGROUND:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the November 17, 2010 Parks and
Recreation Commission meeting:
1. REQUEST FROM THE KIWANIS CLUB OF TEMPLE CITY FOR
CONSIDERATION OF A FEE WAIVER FOR RESERVED USE OF LIVE OAK 1,
2, AND 3, AND THE KITCHEN, AT THE LIVE OAK PARK COMMUNITY
CENTER FOR A CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY AND SENIOR LUNCH ON
DECEMBER 21, 2010
The Commission approved the fee waiver.
2. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMERICAN YOUTH SOCCER
ORGANIZATION FOR APPROVAL OF SEVEN INFLATABLE OBSTACLE
COURSES FOR THEIR XTREME BASH EVENT ON DECEMBER 11, 2010 AT
LIVE OAK PARK
The Commission approved the request.
3. YOUTH COMMITTEE REPORT
The Commission received an update on the recent Youth Committee meetings.

4. TENNIS COURT POLICIES REPORT
The Commission received an update on the recent meetings of the Tennis Court
Policies Ad Hoc Committee.
5. RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE FUNDING, DEVELOPMENT, AND
OPERATION OF THE SAN GABRIEL RIVER DISCOVERY CENTER
Vice -Chairman Arrighi requested the Commission recommend the City Council
adopt a resolution supporting the funding, development, and operation of the
San Gabriel River Discovery Center which will be located at Whittier Narrows
Recreation Area. The Commission approved the request.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to review the Parks and Recreation Commission actions
of their meeting of November 17, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2010-11 City Budget.
