Notes from February 12, 2013 meeting
ATTENDEES: Sunni Brown, Bill Garbett, Paul Wolff, Diane Schleicher, Michael Bodine, Gina Casagrande, Major William Moseley, Mr. Joe Wilson
Ms. Brown called the meeting to order.
New Business:
2013 Tybee Youth Bicycle Rally – March 30, 2013
Ms. Schleicher met with the Savannah Bicycle Campaign and Safe Kids concerning the bicycle rally. She said that she believes the event will be about two hours. The event will be after
and in concert with the Tybee American Legion Easter Egg Hunt.
The committee discussed the activities planned for the event as well as the route. Prizes have been donated.
The Savannah Bicycle Campaign suggested Bike Patrol at intersections. A helmet fit will be done.
The event will end at the cafeteria.
The committee suggested that the route include the bike path rather than cutting across green space.
The committee discussed further prizes for the end of the event. There will be healthy snacks available as well.
Ms. Casagrande suggested two different routes, for two different age groups.
Ms. Brown asked about advertising for the event.
Ms. Schleicher said that she was going to talk to the Legion about co-advertising. Other advertising options were discussed.
Ms. Schleicher will prepare the special event application.
Mr. Wolff suggested the Tourism Council donate bags for the event.
Mr. Garbett moved to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Wolff seconded.
The meeting was adjourned.
