SUBJECT: PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION ACTIONS — MEETING OF FEBRUARY
23, 2011
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Public Safety Commission actions.
BACKGROUND:
On February 23, 2011, the Public Safety Commission held their regularly scheduled
meeting.
ANALYSIS
Following is a summary of actions taken at the February 23, 2011 Public Safety
Commission meeting:
1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Public Safety Commission approved the minutes of January 20, 2011.
2. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. PSC 11-0002 — APPROVING THE
REQUESTS FOR GREEN CURB MARKINGS FOR 9624, 9628, 9668, AND
9674 LAS TUNAS DRIVE.
The Public Safety Commission adopted Resolution No. PSC 11-0002, approving
the requests for green curb markings for 9624, 9628, 9668, and 9674 Las Tunas
Drive.
3. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. PSC 11-0003 — DENYING THE REQUEST
City Council
February 15, 2011

FOR GREEN CURB MARKINGS FOR 9600 LAS TUNAS DRIVE.
The Public Safety Commission adopted Resolution No. PSC 11-0003, denying
the request for green curb markings for 9600 Las Tunas Drive.
4. PARKING CITATION HEARINGS
The Public Safety Commission held four hearings in person. The Commission
upheld three citations and dismissed one citation.
The Public Safety Commission reviewed one hearing requested by written
declaration and upheld the citation.
5. DISCUSSION TO FINALIZE TRAFFIC ENGINEER GUIDELINES FOR CURB
MARKINGS AND TIME LIMIT PARKING ZONES
The Public Safety Commission reviewed and finalized the guidelines, application
process, and review process for curb markings and time limit parking zones.
6. OVERNIGHT PARKING PERMIT HARDSHIP APPEAL FOR 5556 BALDWIN
AVENUE AND 5640 NOEL DRIVE
The Public Safety Commission reviewed the applications for hardship appeals
for 5556 Baldwin and 5640 Noel. The Commission approved the request for one
additional permit for 5556 Baldwin and denied the request for an additional
permit for 5640 Noel.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to review and receive the Public Safety Commission
actions of their meeting of February 23, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2010-11 City Budget.
