SUBJECT: PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION ACTIONS — MEETING OF MARCH 23,
2011
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Public Safety Commission actions.
BACKGROUND:
On March 23, 2011, the Public Safety Commission held their regularly scheduled
meeting.
ANALYSIS
Following is a summary of actions taken at the March 23, 2011 Public Safety
Commission meeting:
1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Public Safety Commission approved the minutes of the regular meeting of
February 23, 2011 and the special meeting of March 9, 2011.
2. PARKING CITATION HEARINGS
The Public Safety Commission held one hearing in person. The hearing was
continued to the next regular meeting as Commissioner Shen was absent and
two Commissioners voted to uphold the citation and two Commissioners voted to
dismiss the citation.
The Public Safety Commission reviewed six hearings requested by written
City Council

declaration. The Commission upheld three citations and dismissed two citations.
The hearing for the sixth citation was continued to the next regular meeting as
Commissioner Shen was absent and two Commissioners voted to uphold the
citation and two Commissioners voted to dismiss the citation.
3. OVERNIGHT PARKING PERMIT HARDSHIP APPEAL FOR 5505 HARKER
AVENUE AND 5944 GOLDEN WEST AVENUE #C.
The Public Safety Commission reviewed the applications for hardship appeals
for 5505 Harker and 5944 Golden West #C. The Commission approved the
request for one additional permit for 5505 Harker and 5944 Golden West #C.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to review and receive the Public Safety Commission
actions of their meeting of March 23, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2010-11 City Budget.
