CALL TO ORDER Mayor Man called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. in the City Hall Community Room located at 9701 Las Tunas Drive, Temple City. 2. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmember — Sternquist, Chavez, Man ABSENT: Councilmember — Vizcarra, Yu ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Cook, Acting Public Safety Supervisor Mayorga, Senior Community Preservation Officer Tran, City Clerk Kuo Captain Meza, Deputy Lam, Deputy Bui, Deputy Anchondo Councilmember Sternquist made a motion to excuse Councilmember Yu and Councilmember Vizcarra. Seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Chavez. 3. PUBLIC COMMENTS — None 4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS — None 5. NEW BUSINESS A. PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAMING City Manager Cook reiterated City Council's discussion regarding community safety programing from their meeting of November 21 meeting and their approval to host a citywide document shredding and catalytic converter etching event in 2024. 6. COMMUNICATIONS A. QUALITY OF LIFE Deputy Lam provided an overview of the sex offender registrants, paroles, and probationers in the City for the month of October 2023. B. CRIME TRENDS Deputy Lam provided an overview of crime trends in neighboring cities affecting Temple City for the month of October 2023. D. NOTABLE ARRESTS Deputy Lam provided an overview of notable arrests made in the City for the month of October 2023. E. CRIME STATISTICS Deputy Lam provided an overview of the crime statistics for the month of October 2023. F. TRAFFIC ISSUES Deputy Lam provided an overview of the traffic issues for the month of October 2023. G. TRAFFIC STATISTICS Deputy Lam provided an overview of the traffic statistics for the month of October 2023. H. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT TEAM ACTIVITIES Deputy Lam provided an update on the special assignment team activities. I. PUBLIC OUTREACH / EVENTS Deputy Lam reported on the public outreach conducted by the special assignment team. City Council asked questions regarding general community safety and crime deterrence strategies to prevent break-ins and burglaries for residential neighborhoods and businesses. They also commented about information sharing on the city's website and social media. J. UPCOMING EVENTS FOR DECEMBER 2023 Deputy Lam announced upcoming meetings and events that will be conducted in the City. 7.
