WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of professional environmental services related to the Arthur Kill and Rahway River Riparian Shoreline Sediment Sampling Phase IA; and WHEREAS, Excel Environmental Resources, Inc. possesses the requisite knowledge, training, experience and professional license to provide expert technical, regulatory, and strategic consulting on behalf of the Borough to apply for the Hazardous Discharge Site Reniediatimr Fund Grant; and has submitted a proposal to provide said services at a cost not to exceed a total amount of $9,124.50; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are Or will be available for said purpose. The proposal from Excel Environmental Resources, Inc. for professional environmental services related to the Arthur Kill and Rahway River Riparian Shoreline Sediment Sampling Phase. IA in an amount not to exceed $9,124.50 at the rate set forth in Excel Environmental Resources, Ins.'s existing contract with the Borough is hereby approved. 2. Annexed hereto is a copy of said proposal. 3. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5(1)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair and Open Process as authorized by law. 4.
