RESOLUTION NO. 88 -3
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COMMISSION OF
THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA, PROVIDING
FOR THE DECLARATION OF A "WATER EMERGENCY ";
PROVIDING RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE OF WATER
BY TOWN RESIDENTS; PROVIDING A PENALTY;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Chapter 10, Article II of the Town Code of
Ordinances sets forth provisions for the restrictions on
the use of water during "Water Emergencies;" and
WHEREAS, The Town of Gulf Stream receives its water
supply from the City of Delray Beach; and
WHEREAS, the City of Delray Beach has notified the Town
that the water supply has been severely limited due to
industrial pollution, making it necessary to close down four
of Delray's most productive wells; and
WHEREAS, the above - referenced condition qualifies as
an emergency situation as set forth in Section 10 -16 of Chapter
10, Article II of the Town Code of Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to impose certain restrictions
on the use of water; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COMMISSION OF THE TOWN OF
GULF STREAM, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The Town Commission hereby ratifies the
declaration oT an emergency situation, pursuant to the terms
of Chapter 10,-Article II, of the Town Code of Ordinances.
Section 2: The Town Commission hereby imposes the
following conditions on the use of water by residents of
the Town of Gulf Stream:
A. Residents may water lawns only twice a week,
said watering to occur on the same days as their
scheduled garbage pickup.
(Place au Soleil -- Monday and Thursday)
(East of the Intracoastal Waterway - Tuesday and
Saturday)
B. There shall be no watering of lawns and .,r /ia.idscaping
between 7 a.m, and 6 p.m. on any day.
C. Washing of automobiles, trucks, trailers, campers,
boats, or any other type of mobile equipment is
hereby prohibited.

Section 3: All of the penalties applicable pursuant
to Chapter 10, Article II of the Town Code of Ordinances
are applicable in the event of violation of the restrictions
set forth in this Resolution.
Section 4: This Resolution is effective immediately
and shall be effective until declared removed by the Town
Clerk of the Town of Gulf Stream.
PASSED AND ADOPTED in a regular adjourned session this
18 day of April 1988.
