( four persons per vehicle, equals 12,500 more vehicles on North Beach) Evaluate vehicle speeds on Taylor Street: many drivers speed in both directions on Taylor Consider addition of four-way stop signs at Pulaski and Taylor Streets similar to the ones recently installed on Van Horne and Taylor Streets to slow down vehicles Encourage rental agencies, Visitor Center and especially City Campground to hand out bicycle ‘rules of the road’ as well as correct roadway walking guidelines. Should this area be a no bicycle zone?????? A city council task force should ‘inspect what you expect’. Encourage law enforcement to be pro-active with bicycle safety for cyclist, runners, walkers, skate boarders and auto drivers…perhaps continual speed monitoring in this area. Effective speed bumps installed at appropriate areas for traffic control at lighthouse and entrance to new Marine Science on North Beach with warning signs Evaluate resident parking on Meddin: how can it be improved? City council member task force/citizens established to monitor action steps put in place and evaluate successes and discontinue ineffective measures.
