A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE CITY'S ASSISTANCE TO THE LYNWOOD LATINO
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN CONDUCTING THEIR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS
DINNER SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 21, 2005
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Latino Chamber of Commerce (Latino
Chamber) is a local community based organization that provides assistance to
the local Latino business community; and
WHEREAS, the Latino Chamber provides support such as conducting of
monthly meetings to discuss important topics facing local business; and
WHEREAS, the Latino Chamber conducts an annual Christmas Dinner as
a social event for the local Lynwood business community; and
WHEREAS, this year's event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 21,
2005 at Bateman Hall; and
WHEREAS, this organization has requested the assistance of the City of
Lynwood in conducting of this event; and
WHEREAS, the assistance involves logistical assistance and the financial
sponsorship of the meal and decorations; and
WHEREAS, City staff has identified that the costs associated with this
assistance is $2,000; and
WHEREAS, City staff has also determined that these funds are available
within the adopted 2005/2006 fiscal budget for the Recreation & Community
Services Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City agrees to provide the assistance identified in this
resolution for the event scheduled for Wednesday, December 21, 2005.
Section 2. This resolution will become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
