A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE AWARD
OF CONTRACT TO RBF CONSULTING IN THE
AMOUNT OF $53,435 FROM ACCOUNT NUMBER
01-4677-4220 (REDEVELOPMENT) TO PREPARE
AN UPDATE TO THE LYNWOOD HOUSING
ELEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council reviewed proposals to update the
Lynwood Housing Element on November 1, 2005; and
WHEREAS, State Law requires local government to adopt a General Plan
consisting of seven (7) mandatory elements including a Housing Element; and
WHEREAS, the last Housing Element Update was adopted in December 2000;
and
WHEREAS, the updated Housing Element is required to comply with
amendments to State Law and provide a current inventory of existing houses and
projected housing needs for the City of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, updating the Lynwood Housing Element may have impacts on the
environment, therefore, an Initial Study will be prepared in accordance with the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines. It is anticipated that a
Mitigated Negative Declaration will be prepared.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes
the Mayor to execute a contract between the City of Lynwood and RBF Consulting to
prepare an Update to the Lynwood Housing Element.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes
funding in the amount of $53,435 from Redevelopment Department Account Number 01-
4677-4220 (Housing Division - Professional & Contractual Services).
Section 3.
