A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE FOUR-YEAR TREE TRIMMING CONTRACT WITH
CALIFORNIA WESTERN ARBORISTS, INC., AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE THE CONTRACT AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR HIS DESlGNNEE TO MAKE THE NECESSARY FUNDS
APPROPRIATION AND TRANSFER TO COVER FOR THE FY 2005-06
CONTRACT COST
WHEREAS, the current Four-Year Tree Trimming Contract with California
Western Arborists (CWA) is due to expire on November 20, 2005; and
WHEREAS, the contract allows the contractor to negotiate a new contract
with the city; and
WHEREAS, the City Council directed staff to negotiate a new contract
with the contractor; and
WHEREAS, the contract negotiation proceeding was carried out in good faith
and in due process; and
WHEREAS, it has been estimated that an additional $78,000 is needed for the
FY 2005-06 portion of the contract; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to enter into a contract with CWA to
provide the necessary tree services to the residents of Lynwood.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council approves the Four-Year Tree Trimming
Contract with California Western Arborists that is to expire on November 20, 2009.
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the contract
agreement.
Section 3. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to make
the following funds appropriation and transfer for the contract

Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
