A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROVING A FOUR-MONTH CONTRACT
EXTENSION TO THE STREET SWEEPING CONTRACT
WITH NATIONWIDE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE
CONTRACT AMENDMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood's Street Sweeping Contract with
Nationwide Environmental Services is due to expire on December 31, 2005; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has directed staff to send out a
Request for Proposals (RFP) for a new contract, and also to conduct a street
sweeping study to identify possible improvements to street sweeping efficiencies;
and
WHEREAS, preliminary study results will not be available until
December 2005, which would not allow staff the time needed to complete the
RFP before December 31,2005; and
WHEREAS, the City requires the continuing services of the current
contractor until the new provider is selected after completion of the RFP process.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby find, proclaim, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1: That the City Council approves a temporary contract
extension to April 30, 2006 for the Street Sweeping Contract with Nationwide
Environmental Services.
Section 2: That the Mayor is authorized to execute the contract
amendment.
Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.

the City Hall of said City on the day of November 15th ., 2005, and passed by
the following vote:
