A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION ST. FRANCIS MEDICAL
CENTER FUNDRAISER
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood finds that a public
purpose is served by maintaining the health and welfare of its residents and the
community; and
WHEREAS, St. Francis Medical Center is the only comprehensive, non-
profit health care institution serving Southeast Los Angeles, which includes the
residents of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, St. Francis Medical Center Foundation has extended an
invitation to the City of Lynwood to participate in a fundraiser by donating
$3,500.00 The fundraiser is the 8th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, October 17,
2005; and
WHEREAS, proceeds from the fundraiser will help St. Francis Medical
Center continue the mission of the Daughters of Charity - caring for those who
are poor and undeserved, with the ultimate goal of improving health.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS;
Section 1. That donation of $3,500.00 to St. Francis Medical Center
serves a public purpose which benefits the residents of the City of Lynwood.
Section 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to carry out
any necessary transactions as so ordered by this resolution.
Section 3. The City of Lynwood will participate in the fundraiser for the
amount of $3,500.00.
Section4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
