A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN, MANAGEMENT AND GENERAL
EMPLOYEES SALARY SCHEDULES AND AUTHORIZING THE
RECLASSIFICATION OF IDENTIFIED INCUMBENTS
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Lynwood has adopted an
Employee Classification and Position Plan and on occasion amends the plan as
needed; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Lynwood has adopted a
salary resolution with salary schedules for Management and General Employees;
and
WHEREAS, The City has identified a need for the position descriptions of
Water Service Worker II, Water Quality Specialist, Utility Inspector, Maintenance
Worker, Deputy Director of Development Services and Assistant City
Manager/Finance where the required job analysis has been completed and a
classification statement has been prepared on that basis; and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Rules and Regulations, Rule IV, Section 4
Reclassification, provide for an employee to be allocated to a more appropriate
class when the duties of which have changed materially so as to necessitate
reclassifications; and
WHEREAS, the City identified a need to upgrade salary levels identified
positions; and
WHEREAS, the City Negotiator has met and conferred with both
employee bargaining groups regarding the proposed modifications.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby find,
determine, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. Amend the Employee Classification Plan and Management
and General Employees Salary Schedule to include new positions as follows:
1 ) Water Service Worker II
2) Water Quality Specialist
3) Utility Inspector
4) Maintenance Worker
5) Deputy Dir. Development Services
6) Assistant City Manager/Finance

(Compensation to be set acco~ing to

Section 2. Amend the Employee Classification Plan for the Revised
Position Descriptions as follows:
AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR THE REVISED POSITION
DESCRIPTIONS
Sr. Water Service Worker - Add the Special Requirement - Possession of a
Grade 1 Water Distribution Operator Certificate issued by the State Health
Department
· Water Service Lead Worker - Add the Special Requirement - Possession of
a Grade 3 Water Distribution Operator Certificate issued by the State Health
Department and Possession of a Grade 2 Water Treatment Operator
Certificate issued by the State Health Department

Section 5. The City Manager is authorized to adjust the Hourly
Emplo~/ees Salary Schedule for the positions indicated above for the respective
hourly amounts equal to the approved monthly salary rage.
Section 6. The Fiscal Year 05-06 budget is hereby amended to add the
positions of Water Service Worker II (8), Maintenance Worker (25) and Deputy
Director of Development Services; and delete the positions of Water Service
Worker (8) and Laborer (Grounds, ROW, Graffiti and Steet - 25).
Section 7. That modifications so ordered by this resolution become
effective for the next full pay period beginning September 25, 2005.
Section 8. That the City Manager of his designee is designated to carry
out any transactions that may be necessary as so ordered by this resolution.
