A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF INTERESTS IN
REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE HAM PARK REPLACEMENT
PROJECT AREA IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA AND
CONSENTING TO RECORDATION OF GRANT DEEDS
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood is a public body, corporate and politic, established as
a General Law City and is governed by an elected body of five council members; and
WHEREAS, Government Code {}37350 gives General Law City the power to purchase,
lease, receive, hold, and enjoy real and personal property, and control and dispose of it for the
common benefit; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to § 37351 of Government Code, the legislative body of a City
may purchase, lease, exchange, or receive real estate situated inside or outside the city limits as
is necessary or proper for municipal purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood (the "Council") has previously
approved the Environmental Impact Report and the Project relocating Ham Park to the area
identified as the Ham Park Replacement Project Area; and
WHEREAS, the City is the process of acquiring by purchase various parcels of real
property located in the Ham Park Replacement Project Area which are listed in the attached
Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, Government Code {}27281 requires that grant deeds conveying interests in
real estate to public agencies for public purposes be accompanied by resolution of the agency
before they may be accepted for recordation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Lynwood hereby finds, orders and resolves as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby authorizes the acceptance of
conveyances by the owners of the properties located in the Ham Park Replacement Project Area
and listed in the attached Exhibit A upon the successful conclusion of the negotiations and close
of escrows now pending for such properties. Upon closing of such escrows, the City of
Lynwood, as grantee, further consents to the recordation of the Grant Deeds for the real
properties listed in Exhibit A.
Section 2. That this Resolution is to be given effect immediately upon adoption.
