A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
RATIFYING THE YOUTH & FAMILY POLICY
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has a finite number of parks and
community facilities for use by the residents for recreation purposes; and
WHEREAS, there is also a limited amount of budgeted funds that can be
expended to provide recreation programs; and
WHEREAS, based upon these facts a Youth and Family Policy was
developed to use as a template to assist in the determination of priorities for the
use of the limited resources available; and
WHEREAS, a draft Youth and Family Policy was presented to the City
Council at the regularly scheduled meeting of June 7, 2005; and
WHEREAS, at this meeting the City Council provided input to the draft
policy which has been included in the final draft of the policy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council also directed staff to present the policy to the
Recreation & Parks Commission and acquire their input; and
WHEREAS, the policy was reviewed at the July 26, 2005 regularly
scheduled meeting of the Recreation & Parks Commission; and
WHEREAS, the input from the Commission has been included in the final
draft of the policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council ratifies the Youth and Family Policy for
use as a template when considering funding, program and related proposals.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
