A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ACCEPTING
THE WATER WELL NO.5 EMERGENCY REPAIR PROJECT NO. 6051.45.450 AS
COMPLETE; AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH
THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY RECORDERS OFFICE AND THE RELEASE OF THE
5% RETENTION AFTER 35 DAYS AFTER THE RECORDATION.
WHEREAS, on June 22, 2017, Staff reported via Green Memo that there had been
a loss in flow, a knocking sound and elevated temperatures on Well No. 5; and
WHEREAS, on the initial work to inspect the equipment was $7,500; and
WHEREAS, on August 17, 2017, the City Manager authorized staff to proceed with
the emergency repairs through a P.O Agreement in the amount not to exceed $45,000;
and
WHEREAS, on August 21, 2017, the construction for Water Well No.5 Emergency
Repair Project, Project No.6051.45.450 started; and
WHEREAS, the total construction cost for the Water Well No.5 Emergency Repair
Project, Project No. 6051.45.450 is $51,633 and was fully funded by the Water Fund; and
WHEREAS, on September 19, 2017, the Water Works inspector found that all
work is complete in accordance with the project agreement and it is now ready for the
acceptance by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council accepts the Water Well No.5 Emergency Repair
Project, Project No. 6051.45.450 as complete.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the filing of Notice of Completion with
the County Recorder's Office.
Section 3. That the City Council authorizes the release of the 5% retention.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
