A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING
THE SALARY RESOLUTION TO ADD NEW CLASSIFICATIONS OF PUBLIC SAFETY
OFFICER AT RANGE G45; LEAD PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER AT THE NEW RANGE
OF G54; DELETING THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
AND PARKING CONTROL OFFICER; RECLASSIFYING INCUMBENTS IN THESE
CLASSES INTO THE NEW CLASSIFICATIONS AND AMENDING THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENTS AUTHORIZED POSITIONS TO REFLECT THE
DELETION OF 6 FULL TIME AND 2 PART TIME CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, 8
FULL TIME AND 2 PART TIME PARKING CONTROL OFFICERS AND ADDITON OF
12 FULL TIME AND 4 PART TIME PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS AND 2 LEAD PUBLIC
SAFETY OFFICERS.
WHEREAS, the City and the union have agreed to eliminate the existing
classifications of Code Enforcement Officer and Parking Control Officer and create new
classifications combining these duties along with animal control duties into a Public Safety
Officer classification and Lead Public Safety Officer classification to better serve the
residents of the city; and
WHEREAS, the staff recommends the establishment of these classifications;
WHEREAS, the staff recommends all incumbent employees in these classes be
reclassified into one of the new classes;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HERBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council hereby amends the Salary Schedule to add the
new classifications of Public Safety Officer at range G45 and Lead Public Safety Officer at
range G54 and delete the classifications of Code Enforcement Officer and Parking
Control Officer.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
