A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, COUNTY
OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE
APPROPRIATION OF $15,000 FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED GENERAL FUND
FOR THE FIRST ANNUAL ANIMAL CARE AND EDUCATION FAIR
WHEREAS, the City wishes to promote the general health and welfare of
animals residing within its jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the City believes that conducting its First Annual Animal Care and
Education Fair, which will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, can aid in promoting
improved pet ownership and responsibility; and
WHEREAS, the City is committed to providing access to the multitude of animal
related resources within the Greater Los Angeles area and Los Angeles County to its
pet owners; and
WHEREAS, it is the City's goal to have a well-educated community of pet
owners, which will assist in decreasing the amount of stray and unaltered animals within
the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes the appropriation of$15,000 from the
unappropriated general fund for the purposes of hosting its First Annual Animal Care
and Education Fair for the benefits of pets and their owners throughout the City at large.
Section 2. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon its adoption.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and
hereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of September 2018.
