STATE OF NEW JERSEY
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
GREEN ACRES PROGRAM
ENABLING RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Green Acres
Program ("State"), provides loans and/or grants to municipal and county governments
and grants to nonprofit organizations for assistance in the acquisition and development of
lands for outdoor recreation and conservation proposes; and
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has previously obtained a Green Acres grant of
$1,200,000 and an Urban Parks grant of $500,000 from the State to fund the following
project(s):
#1201-21-019 & 1201-21-UPG; Arthur Kill River Walk North; and
WHEREAS, the Stale and the Borough of Carteret intend to increase Green Acres
funding by $1,400,000, to increase Green Acres funding to a'totat of $2,600,000; and
increase the total funding amount to $3,100,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ITRESOLVE'D BY THE Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret that:
1. The mayor of the above -named body or board is hereby authorized to execute an
agreement and any amendment(s) thereto with the State known as Arthur Kill
River Walk North, and;
2. The applicant agrees to provide its matching share to the Green Acres funding, if
a match is required, in the amount of $4,932,492, and;
3. The applicant agrees to comply with all applicable federal, slate, and local laws,
rules, and regulations in its performance of the project, and;
4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
I, Carmela Pogorzelski, Municipal Clerk do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true
copy of a resolution adopted by the Borough Council at a meeting held on the 7`I' day of
December, 2023.
