SUPPORTING THE DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER
YEAREND CRACKDOWN
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret would like to support the
Carteret Police Department by advising residents and visitors not to let a night of
celebration turn into a lifetime of regret; and
WHEREAS, this holiday season, the Carteret Police Department is joining the New
Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safely for the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled
Over campaign to keep our roads safe from impaired drivers; and
WHEREAS, no one wants to spend their holiday behind bars, so if you are plarming to
drink, plan to get a safe, sober ride hone, calla sober friend, ride share, or taxi to get
home safely.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council along with the
Carteret Police Department are committed to keeping our roads iatfe for everyone and are
teaming up with the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety acid are participating
in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign
DECEMBER 1, 2023 THROUGH JANUARY 1, 2024
and ask all residents and visitors in the Borough to help save lives by never driving under
the influence of alcohol or drugs.
