A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE REPENS FICUS (CREEPING FIG) PLANTING PILOT
PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE USE OF FUNDS FROM THE
LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT FOR THE PURCHASE OF NEEDED
MATERIALS, SUPPLIES AND SERVICES THROUGH AN INFORMAL BID
PROCESS FOR THE REPENS FICUS (CREEPING FIG) PLANTING PILOT
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Repens Ficus (Creeping Fig) Planting Pilot Program's
intent is to beautify the City and,deter graffiti activities within the City; and
WHEREAS, the pilot program is located on the City's major arterials
where the recurring graffiti problem exist; and
WHEREAS, this pilot program can be done more efficiently and
economically through an informal bid procedure; and
WHEREAS, Section 6-3.13c of the Lynwood Municipal Code allows
City Council to approve said bid process with 4/5 vote; and
WHEREAS, this pilot program is estimated to cost $30,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood as follows:
Section 1. Staff is authorized to use $30,000.00 from the Landscape
Maintenance District Fund for the purchase of needed materials, supplies and services for
the Repens Ficus (Creeping Fig) Planting Pilot Program.
Section 2. Staff is authorized to purchases needed materials, supplies and
services through an informal bid process for the Repens Ficus (Creeping Fig) Planting
Pilot Program.
