CONTRACT BETWEEN THE C'rTY OF LYNWOOD
AND THE LAW OFF'rCES OF DAPEEP-v
ROSENBL'rT & L'rTVAK~ LLP TO PROVI'DE CZTY
PROSECUTOR SERV'rCES FOR CODE
ENFORCEI~IENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood sometimes requires legal and prosecutor services
for the Code Enforcement Division to gain property compliance and remedy code
violations; and
WHEREAS, on February 1, 2005 the Lynwood City Council authorized staff to
advertise a Request for Proposal (RFP) for legal consulting firms to provide City
Prosecutor Services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood advertised the RFP to provide City Prosecutor
Services in the Lynwood Press (Wave) on February 3, 2005, and in the Lynwood 3ournal
on February 2, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Dapeer, Rosenblit & Litvak, LLP was the only legal consulting firm
that submitted an RFP by the February 24, 2005 deadline; and
WHEREAS, THE Law Offices of Dapeer, Rosenblit & Litvak, LLP has provided
effective and efficient code enforcement services to the City of Lynwood for the last
fifteen (15) years since :L990; and
WHEREAS, Law Offices of Dapeer, Rosenblit & Litvak, LLP has the required
experience and resources to provide effective and efficient code enforcement services;
and
WHEREAS, the Law Offices of Dapeer, Rosenblit & Litvak, LLP has overall
knowledge of the City of Lynwood that would require additional time and money for
another legal consulting firm to obtain.
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the
Mayor to execute a contract between the City of Lynwood and law Offices of Dapeer,
Rosenblit & Litvak, LLP and authorizes the City Manager to implement such contract.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes funding at
an hourly rate of $145.00 for attorney time and miscellaneous cosL~ from the following
accounts:
0Z-4568-4220
28-4568-4220
Professional & Contractual Services; and
Professional & Contractual Services.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 5m day of April, 2005.
