AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Million One Hundred
Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($1,115,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement
Fund to be used for project costs for the rehabilitation of combined
sewers in Repair and Replace Sewer Systems in City Parks – Sewer
Replacement - Tower Grove Park (99123B3), in the City of St. Louis,
Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into a contract with J.W. Bommarito Construction Company, Inc. for the
aforesaid rehabilitation.
WHEREAS, the bid for the aforesaid rehabilitation of
combined sewers is One Million Eleven Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-
four Dollars ($1,011,864.00), and the allowance for construction change
orders is One Hundred Three Thousand One Hundred Thirty-six Dollars
($103,136.00), and
WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection
Agency has agreed to contribute Six Hundred Thirteen Thousand Two
Hundred Fifty Dollars ($613,250.00) toward the costs of said project;
upon the receipt of such funds, said money will be returned to the
Sanitary Replacement Fund, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is
an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the
obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Million One Hundred Fifteen
Thousand Dollars ($1,115,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the
Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for project costs for the
rehabilitation of combined sewers in Repair and Replace Sewer Systems
in City Parks – Sewer Replacement – Tower Grove Park (99123B3), in the
City of St. Louis, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis
Sewer District to enter into a contract with J.W. Bommarito Construction
Company, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder, for the rehabilitation of
combined sewers in Repair and Replace Sewer Systems in City Parks –
Sewer Replacement – Tower Grove Park (99123B3), in the City of St.
Louis, Missouri, within The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District,
pursuant to bids received and opened on the 30th day of April, 2001.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 14, 2001 by the following
vote –
Ayes – T.W. Purcell, M.G. Reichert, M.C. Williams, A.J. Soukenik, J.W.
Siscel, and C.D. Seward.
Nays – None.
