AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Hundred Sixty-five
Thousand Dollars ($165,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of Loretta – Joplin to be used for project
costs for the construction of storm sewers in Brook Avenue and Meadow
Storm Sewer (99056), in St. Louis County, Missouri; and authorizing the
Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan
St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with JRW Construction,
Inc. for the construction of the aforesaid storm sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said storm sewers
is One Hundred Forty – Nine Thousand One Hundred Eighty-One and
01/100 Dollars ($149,181.01), and the allowance for construction
change orders is Fifteen Thousand Eight Hundred Eighteen Dollars and
99/100 ($15,818.99), and
WHEREAS, the State of Missouri has agreed to contribute
Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) toward the total costs of said
project; upon the receipt of such funds from said source, said money will
be returned to the Operation, Maintenance and Construction
Improvement fund of Loretta – Joplin, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is
an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the
obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Hundred Sixty-five Thousand
Dollars ($165,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Operation,
Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of Loretta – Joplin to
be used for the construction of storm sewers in Brook Avenue and
Meadow Storm Sewer (99056), in St. Louis County, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis
Sewer District to enter into a contract with JRW Construction, Inc. as the
lowest responsible bidder for the construction of storm sewers in Brook
Avenue and Meadow Storm Sewer (99056), in St. Louis County, Missouri,
pursuant to bids received and opened on the 21st day of May, 2001.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted July 12, 2001 by the following vote
Ayes – T.W. Purcell, M.G. Reichert, C.D. Seward, A.J. Soukenik, J.W.
Siscel, and M.C. Williams.
Nays – None.
