HomeMy Public PortalAbout11073O R D I N A N C E NO. 11073 AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance, and Construction Improvement Fund of Lower Meramec River Basin to be used for project costs for the construction of sanitary sewers in Upper Grand Glaize Sanitary Relief Phase III (90079C), in the City of Ballwin, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Karsten Equipment Company for the construction of the aforesaid sanitary sewers. WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said sanitary sewers is Four Hundred Twenty-four Thousand One Hundred Twenty and 60/100 Dollars ($424,120.60), and the allowance for construction change orders is Seventy-five Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-nine and 40/100 Dollars ($75,879.40), and WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The sum of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Operation, Maintenance, and Construction Improvement Fund of Lower Meramec River Basin to be used for 2 project costs for the construction of sanitary sewers in Upper Grand Glaize Sanitary Relief Phase III (90079C), in the City of Ballwin, Missouri. Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Karsten Equipment Company as the lowest responsible bidder for the construction of sanitary sewers in Upper Grand Glaize Sanitary Relief Phase III (90079C), in the City of Ballwin, Missouri, pursuant to bids received and opened on the 4th day of September, 2001. Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 13, 2001 by the following vote Ayes – T.W. Purcell, M.G. Reichert, C.D. Seward, A.J. Soukenik, M.C. Williams, and J.W. Siscel. Nays – none.
