AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Two Hundred Seventy
Thousand Dollars ($270,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of Maline Creek to be used for project
costs for the construction of storm sewers in Dennis Drive Storm Sewer
(MCMB - 410) (99061), in the City of Ferguson and Unincorporated St.
Louis County, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and
Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District to enter into a contract with Southern Ditching & Excavating
Company for the construction of the aforesaid storm sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said storm sewers
is Two Hundred Forty-three Thousand Four Hundred Eighty-two and
57/100 Dollars ($243,482.57), and the allowance for construction
change orders is Twenty-six Thousand Five Hundred Seventeen Dollars
and 43/100 ($26,517.43), and
WHEREAS, St. Louis County, Missouri has agreed to
contribute One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($115,000.00) toward
the costs of said project; upon the receipt of such funds from said
source, said money will be returned to the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of Maline Creek, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is
an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the
obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Two Hundred Seventy Thousand
Dollars ($270,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Operation,
Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of Maline Creek to be
used for the construction of storm sewers in Dennis Drive Storm Sewer
(MCMB - 410) (99061), in the City of Ferguson and Unincorporated St.
Louis County, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis
Sewer District to enter into a contract with Southern Ditching &
Excavating Company as the lowest responsible bidder for the
construction of storm sewers in Dennis Drive Storm Sewer (MCMB - 410)
(99061), in the City of Ferguson and Unincorporated St. Louis County,
Missouri, pursuant to bids received and opened on the 13th day of
December, 2001.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The Foregoing Ordinance was adopted February 20, 2002 by the
following vote –
Ayes- T.W. Purcell, M.G. Reichert, A.J. Soukenik, C.D. Seward, and J.W.
Siscel.
