AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Million Six Hundred Fifty
Thousand Dollars ($1,650,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of Lower Meramec River Basin to be used for
project costs for the construction of sanitary sewers in Williams Creek Sanitary
Facilities - Force Main and Outfall Sewer (99092), in St. Louis County, Missouri;
and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Karsten
Equipment Company for the construction of the aforesaid sanitary sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said sanitary sewers is One
Million Four Hundred Eighty-six Thousand Five Hundred Fifteen and 20/100
Dollars ($1,486,515.20), and the allowance for construction change orders is One
Hundred Sixty-three Thousand Four Hundred Eighty-four and 80/100 Dollars
($163,484.80), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an
unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation
authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Million Six Hundred Fifty Thousand
Dollars ($1,650,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Operation, Maintenance
and Construction Improvement Fund of the Lower Meramec River Basin to be
used for project costs for the construction of sanitary sewers in Williams Creek
Sanitary Facilities - Force Main and Outfall Sewer (99092), in St. Louis County,
Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are
hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into a contract with Karsten Equipment Company as the lowest responsible bidder
for the construction of sanitary sewers in Williams Creek Sanitary Facilities -
Force Main and Outfall Sewer (99092), in St. Louis County, Missouri, with The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, pursuant to bids received and opened on
the 13th day of February, 2002.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance,
shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The Foregoing Ordinance was adopted April 11, 2002 by the following vote –
Ayes – T.W. Purcell, M.G. Reichert, A.J. Soukenik, C.D. Seward, and M.C.
Williams.
