AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Thirty-two Million Five Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($32,500,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be
used for project costs for the construction of combined sewers in Grand and Bates
Relief Phase II (Tunnel) 99145, in The City of St. Louis, Missouri; and authorizing
the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St.
Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Affholder, Inc. for the
construction of the aforesaid combined sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said combined sewers is
Thirty-two Million Eight Hundred Eighty-two Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-
six Dollars ($32,882,876.00), and with value engineering substitutions as
proposed by the low bidder, said bid amount has been reduced to Thirty-one
Million One Hundred Sixty-two Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-six Dollars
($31,162,876.00); and the allowance for construction change orders is One Million
Three Hundred Thirty-seven Thousand One Hundred Twenty-four Dollars
($1,337,124.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an
unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation
authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Thirty-two Million Five Hundred Thousand
Dollars ($32,500,000.00), is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement
Fund to be used for project costs for the construction of combined sewers in
Grand and Bates Relief Phase II (Tunnel) 99145, in The City of St. Louis, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are
hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into a contract with Affholder, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder for the
construction of combined sewers in Grand and Bates Relief Phase II (Tunnel)
99145 in The City of St. Louis, Missouri, pursuant to bids received and opened on
the 7th day of February, 2002.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance,
shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The Foregoing Ordinance was adopted April 11, 2002 by the following vote –
Ayes – T.W. Purcell, M.G. Reichert, A.J. Soukenik, C.D. Seward, and M.C.
Williams.
Nays – None.
