HomeMy Public PortalAbout11320ORDINANCE NO. 11320 AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Three Hundred Twenty-eight Thousand Dollars ($328,000.00) from the Water Backup Insurance and Reimbursement Fund to pay a portion of the cost for Third Party Administration, claims handling and reporting services for the District's general liability sewer backup, and workers compensation claims; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Corporate Claims Management, Inc. whereby Corporate Claims Management, Inc. will provide Third Party Administration, claims handling and reporting services for the District's general liability, sewer backup, and workers compensation claims. WHEREAS, the District desires to retain professional adjustment services to administer general liability, sewer backup and workers compensation claims, WHEREAS, Fifty-two Thousand Dollars ($52,000.00), as previously appropriated and budgeted to the Department of Risk Management, will be used to pay a portion of the cost for Third Party Administration, claims handling and reporting services for the District's general liability, sewer backup, and workers compensation claims, and WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The sum of Three Hundred Twenty-eight Thousand Dollars ($328,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Water Backup Insurance and Reimbursement Fund to pay a portion of the cost for Third Party Administration, claims handling and reporting services for the District's general liability, sewer backup, and workers compensation claims. Section Two. The Executive Director and SecretaryTreasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Corporate Claims Management, Inc. whereby Corporate Claims Management, Inc. will provide Third Party Administration, claims handling, and reporting services for the District's general liability, sewer backup, and workers compensation claims. Section Three. The contract authorized in Section Two of this ordinance shall provide for a term of three (3) years commencing July 1, 2002, subject to the annual budget appropriation of the District, shall provide for a fee not to exceed Three Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($380,000.00) per year, and contain such other terms and conditions as are approved by the office of the General Counsel of the District. Section Four. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 12, 2002 by the following vote- Ayes – C.D. Seward, A.J. Soukenik, T.W. Purcell, M.C. Williams, and J.W. Siscel. Nays – None. Secretary-Treasurer
