AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Million Three Hundred Seventy-
five Thousand Dollars ($1,375,000.00) from the Improvement Fund to be used for
project costs for the construction of combined sewers in Alfred-Eichelberger
Combined Sewer Relief Phase II (Alfred Ave) (99079B), in the City of St. Louis,
Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on
behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with
Bates Utility Company, for the construction of the aforesaid combined sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said sanitary sewers is One
Million Two Hundred Thirty-five Thousand Three Hundred Seventy Dollars
($1,234,370.00), and the allowance for construction change orders is One
Hundred Forty Thousand Six Hundred Thirty Dollars ($140,630.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an
unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation
authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Million Three Hundred Seventy-five
Thousand Dollars ($1,375,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Improvement
Fund to be used for project costs for the construction of combined sewers in
Alfred-Eichelberger Combined Sewer Relief Phase II (Alfred Ave.) (99079B), in the
City of St. Louis, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are
hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into a contract with Bates Utility Company as the lowest responsible bidder for the
construction of combined sewers in Alfred-Eichelberger Combined Sewer Relief
Phase II (Alfred Ave.) (99079B) in The City of St. Louis, Missouri, pursuant to bids
received and opened on the 14th day of September, 2002.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance,
shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 12, 2002 by the following vote-
Ayes – C.D. Seward, A.J. Soukenik, T.W. Purcell, M.C. Williams, and J.W. Siscel.
Nays – None.
