AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Four Hundred Seventy-five
Thousand Dollars ($475,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of the University City Branch of River
des Peres to be used for project costs for the construction of storm
sewers and appurtenances and a reinforced concrete box culvert in
Mendell-Seventy-Ninth Storm Channel (UCNW-120) (2001153), in the
City of University City, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director
and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer
District to enter into a contract with R.V. Wagner, Inc. for the
construction of the aforesaid project.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said storm sewers
and appurtenances and reinforced concrete box culvert is Four Hundred
Forty-two Thousand Two Hundred Fifty-nine Dollars ($442,259.00), and
the allowance for construction change orders is Thirty-two Thousand
Seven Hundred Forty-one Dollars ($32,741.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is
an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the
obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Four Hundred Seventy-five
Thousand Dollars ($475,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the
Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of the
University City Branch of River des Peres to be used for project costs for
the construction of storm sewers and appurtenances and a reinforced
concrete box culvert in Mendell-Seventy-Ninth Storm Channel (UCNW-
120) (2001153), in the City of University City, Missouri
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis
Sewer District to enter into a contract with R.V. Wagner, Inc. as the
lowest responsible bidder for the construction of storm sewers and
appurtenances and a reinforced concrete box culvert in Mendell-Seventy-
Ninth Storm Channel (UCNW-120) (2001153), in the City of University
City, Missouri, pursuant to bids received and opened on the 13th day of
November, 2002.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted December 13, 2002 by the following
vote –
Ayes – C.D. Seward, A.J. Soukenik, T.W. Purcell, M.C. Williams, J.W. Siscel,
and J.M. Swartz.
Nays – None.
