AN ORDINANCE, authorizing the Board of Trustees on behalf of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Kohn, Shands,
Elbert, Gianoulakis & Giljum, LLP, whereby Kohn, Shands, Elbert, Gianoulakis &
Giljum, LLP will provide legal consulting services to review the Rate Commission
Report for the Board of Trustees, with an emergency clause.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Board of Trustees is hereby authorized on behalf of
The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Kohn,
Shands, Elbert, Gianoulakis & Giljum, LLP, whereby Kohn, Shands, Elbert,
Gianoulakis & Giljum, LLP will provide legal consulting services to review the Rate
Commission Report for the Board of Trustees.
Section Two. The contract authorized in Section One of this
ordinance shall be comprised of such terms and conditions as are approved by the
Board of Trustees of the District.
Section Three. The specialized legal consulting services as herein
authorized are essential to the operations of the District, and must commence
without delay, thus creating an emergency within the meaning of the Charter.
Accordingly, this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted December 13, 2002 by the following vote –
Ayes – C.D. Seward, A. J. Soukenik, T.W. Purcell, M.C. Williams, J.W. Siscel, and
J.M. Swartz.
Nays – None.
