AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Forty-three Million Six Hundred
Ninety-one Thousand Dollars ($43,691,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement
Fund to be used for project costs for the construction of the Lower Meramec River
Wastewater Treatment Plant (95066A), in St. Louis County, Missouri; and
authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Goodwin
Brothers Construction Company for the construction of the aforesaid wastewater
treatment plant.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said wastewater treatment
plant is Eighty Million Five Hundred Ninety-eight Thousand Seven Hundred
Ninety Dollars ($80,598,790.00), and the appropriations in the succeeding two (2)
fiscal years will complete the total funding of said project, and
WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has
agreed to contribute Five Million Seven Hundred Twenty-six Thousand Three
Hundred Dollars ($5,726,300.00) toward the cost of said project; upon the receipt
of such funds from said source, said money will be returned to the Sanitary
Replacement Fund, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an
unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation
authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Forty-three Million Six Hundred Ninety-one
Thousand Dollars ($43,691,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary
Replacement Fund to be used for project costs for the construction of the Lower
Meramec River Wastewater Treatment Plant (95066A), in St. Louis County,
Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are
hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into a contract with Goodwin Brothers Construction Company as the lowest
responsible bidder for the construction of the Lower Meramec River Wastewater
Treatment Plant (95066A) in St. Louis County, Missouri, pursuant to bids received
and opened on the 17th day of July, 2003.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance,
shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted October 9, 2003.
