AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Million Six Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($1,600,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund
for project costs for the construction of sanitary sewers in MC-05 Laclede
Sta/Rockspring to Cheshire Sanitary Relief (90063); in St. Louis County,
Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into a contract with Gershenson Construction Co., Inc., for the
construction of the aforesaid sanitary sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for construction of said sanitary sewers
is One Million Five Hundred Twenty-two Thousand Seven Hundred
Twenty-eight and 54/100 Dollars ($1,522,728.54), and the allowance for
construction change orders is Seventy-seven Thousand Two Hundred
Seventy-one and 46/100 Dollars ($77,271.46), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is
an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the
obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of One Million Six Hundred Thousand
Dollars ($1,600,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Sanitary
Replacement Fund to be used for project costs for the construction of
sanitary sewers in MC-05 Laclede Sta/Rockspring to Cheshire Sanitary
Relief (90063), in St. Louis County, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis
Sewer District to enter into a contract with Gershenson Construction
Co., Inc., as the lowest responsible bidder for the construction of sanitary
sewers in MC-05 Laclede Sta/Rockspring to Cheshire Sanitary Relief
(90063), in St. Louis County, Missouri, pursuant to bids received and
opened on the 14th day of October, 2003.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted December 11, 2003 by the
following vote –
Ayes – M.A. Rhodes, C. Brown, D. Joyce-Hayes, J.M. Swartz, and R.J.
Baer.
Nays – None.
