AN ORDINANCE, authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract renewal with L. Kent Gaines d/b/a Gaines Consulting for state legislative
services.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 11114, adopted November 14, 2001,
authorized the District’s contract with L. Kent Gaines d/b/a Gaines Consulting, said
contract to terminate on November 30, 2002, and
WHEREAS, said contract provides for two (2) one-year contract renewals
at the option of the District, and the District wishes to exercise the final renewal of
said contract, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 11361, adopted November 4, 2002, authorized
the first renewal of said contract for an additional one-year term to terminate on
November 30, 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract renewal with L. Kent Gaines d/b/a Gaines Consulting for state legislative
services.
Section Two. The contract renewal authorized in Section One of this
ordinance shall commence on December 1, 2003, and terminate on November 30, 2004;
shall provide for a total annual fee not to exceed Forty-eight Thousand Dollars
($48,000.00) plus expenses as approved by the District; and shall be comprised of such
other terms and conditions as are approved by the office of the General Counsel of the
District.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted December 11, 2003.
