HomeMy Public PortalAbout11693 O R D I N A N C E NO. 11693 AN ORDINANCE, accepting the certified results of the general election of February 3, 2004, at which The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District sponsored one proposition. WHEREAS, on the 26th day of August, 2003, the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District did adopt Ordinance No. 11573, authorizing the District’s participation in the general election of February 3, 2004 to approve one proposition to authorize the District to issue sewer system Revenue Bonds in the amount of Five Hundred Million Dollars ($500,000,000.00), and WHEREAS, said election was duly held on the aforesaid 3rd day of February, 2004 by the Board of Election Commissioners of the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County, Missouri, respectively, and WHEREAS, the ballots furnished for and used at said special election were in substantially the form as set forth in the aforesaid Ordinance No. 11573, as adopted by this Board, and WHEREAS, said Board of Election Commissioners of the City of St. Louis, Missouri, on the 12th day of February, 2004, did certify to this Board of Trustees the results of the aforesaid election, and 2 WHEREAS, said Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County, Missouri, on the 13th day of February, 2004, did certify to this Board of Trustees the results of the aforesaid election, and WHEREAS, this Board of Trustees has now canvassed the returns of said election, as certified by the Board of Election Commissioners of the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County, Missouri, respectively, and WHEREAS, it appears upon said canvass, that in said election, the votes in the City of St. Louis, Missouri were cast as follows: PROPOSITION "Y" YES 21,738 NO 9,743 TOTAL 31,481 and, WHEREAS, it appears upon said canvass, that in said election, the votes in St. Louis County, Missouri were cast as follows: PROPOSITION "Y" YES 79,681 NO 37,282 TOTAL 116,963 and, WHEREAS, more than one-half of all of the votes cast on the aforesaid proposition was cast in favor thereof; 3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The proposition as submitted to the qualified electors in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and St. Louis County, Missouri, as set forth more particularly in said Ordinance No. 11573, at a general election held on the 3rd day of February, 2004, were assented to by more than one-half of the qualified electors of the District voting on said propositions in said election, the total vote on said propositions having been cast as follows: PROPOSITION "Y" YES 101,419 NO 47,025 TOTAL 148,444 The Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District hereby accepts the results of said election, as certified by the Board of Election Commissioners of the City of St. Louis, Missouri, and the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County, Missouri, respectively, which authorize the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to issue sewer system Revenue Bonds in the amount of Five Hundred Million Dollars ($500,000,000.00), as set forth in the aforesaid proposition. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted March 11, 2004.
