HomeMy Public PortalAbout12068 O R D I N A N C E NO. 12068 AN ORDINANCE, appropriating One Hundred Sixty-seven Thousand Dollars ($167,000.00) from the Improvement Fund for the District’s financial assistance for engineering services related to a flooding reduction study in the Upper River des Perea area; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary- Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into an agreement with the City of University City, Missouri, wherein the District will provide financial assistance for said engineering services. WHEREAS, the City of University City, Missouri has requested that The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District provide financial assistance to the City as local sponsor for this federal study, WHEREAS, The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District has requested that Congress provide legislative authorization to credit the District for past work along the upper River des Peres, thereby increasing the likelihood of a federal flooding reduction project in this area in the future. WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The sum of One Hundred Sixty-seven Thousand Dollars ($167,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Improvement Fund, for the District’s financial assistance for engineering services related to a flooding reduction study in the Upper River des Peres area. Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into an agreement with the City of University City, Missouri, wherein the District will provide financial assistance for engineering services related to a flooding reduction study in the Upper River des Peres area; said agreement to be comprised of such terms and conditions as are approved by the office of General Counsel of the District. Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 8, 2005.
