HomeMy Public PortalAbout12263O R D I N A N C E NO. 12263 AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Five Hundred Three Thousand Dollars ($503,000.00) from the Improvement Fund to be used for project costs for the construction of storm sewers in Sewer Improvements in St. Louis City Parks Phase III (2005091), in the City of St. Louis, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with XL Contracting, Inc. for the aforesaid construction. WHEREAS, the bid for the aforesaid construction of said storm sewers is Four Hundred Seventy-eight Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-one Dollars ($478,471.00), and the allowance for construction change orders is Twenty-four Thousand Five Hundred Twenty-nine Dollars ($24,529.00), and WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has agreed to contribute Two Hundred Seventy-six Thousand Six Hundred Fifty Dollars ($276,650.00) toward the costs of said project; upon the receipt of such funds from said source, said money will be returned to the Improvement Fund, and WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT: Section One. The sum of Five Hundred Three Thousand Dollars ($503,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Improvement Fund to be used for project costs for the construction of storm sewers in Sewer Improvements in St. Louis City Parks Phase III (2005091), in the City of St. Louis, Missouri. Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with XL Contracting, Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder, for the construction of storm sewers in Sewer Improvements in St. Louis City Parks Phase III (2005091), in the City of St. Louis, Missouri, pursuant to bids received and opened on the 8th day of June, 2006. Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment. The foregoing Ordinance was adopted August 10, 2006.
