HomeMy Public PortalAbout12297O R D I N A N C E NO. 12297 AN ORDINANCE, authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract with Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP, whereby Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP will
provide legal consulting services in the area of Environmental Law, with an
emergency clause.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are
hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into a contract with Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP, whereby Shook, Hardy & Bacon
LLP will provide legal consulting services in the area of Environmental Law.
Section Two. The contract authorized in Section One of this ordinance
shall provide for a term of 1 (one) year to commence on October 1, 2006, and at the
discretion of the District, said contract shall continue on a month-to-month basis to
allow the completion of assigned projects. In addition, the contract shall be
comprised of such other terms and conditions as are approved by the office of the
General Counsel of the District.
Section Three. An attorney with Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP has been
representing the District throughout protracted discussions and discovery
associated with important environmental matters and it is critical that said
representation continue in an unbroken manner, thus creating an emergency within
the meaning of the Charter; accordingly, this ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
