Charles "Bud" Matlock
Born and reared in Savannah, Bud entered the U.S Air Force after graduating from
Savannah High Schoo l. The four-year Air Force tour gave him a lifelong passion for
aviation, leading to a forty-nine year career in the aviation industry in various
leadership positions. Bud graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
and earned a master's degree from Ca l ifornia State University. He recently retired
from The Boeing Company and has lived on Tybee Is l and since. Bud's entire career
was spent in all aspects of aircraft product support and customer service. It allowed
for much domestic and international travel.
Bud has been married for 48 years, has two chi ldren and six grandchildren. He is a
member of various organizations on and off Tybee and presently serves on the
Tybee Island Community Resources Committee and the Tybee Is land Planning
Commission.
Bud's interests lie in a ll things aviation, kayaking and family .
