A RESOLUTION OF THE CTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AMENDING AN AGREEMENT WITH WAYNE SEMINOFF COMPANY FOR
RECOVERY OF DORMANT FUNDS FROM OLD CLOSED COURT CASES
WHEREAS, reviews of dormant funds related to closed court cases is a
specialized service and only a few companies have the experience and capacity
to perform this task; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to amend an agreement with the Wayne
Seminoff Company that would allow the City to recover revenue owed to the City
due to unpaid court cases; and
WHEREAS, the Wayne Seminoff Company has close to forty years of
experience and has recovered over$400,000 for its clients; and
WHEREAS, their fee will be 35.5% of the recovery of dormant funds
related tot eh closed court cases.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the agreement for the Wayne Seminoff Company dated
January 5, 2010 will be amended so the firm can recover the dormant funds for
the City.
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the amended
agreement in a form approved by the City Attorney.
Section 3. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of October, 2018.
