AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH ALLIED RISK SERVICES, INC.
TO SERVE AS THE CLAIMS SERVICE COMPANY FOR THE
BOROUGH'S WORKERS' COMPENSATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret ("Borough") requires the services of a
claims service company/third party administrator to handle the administration of
claims for the Borough's self-insured workers' compensation program; and
WHEREAS, Allied Risk Services, Inc., ("Allied Risk") a corporation of the State
of New Jersey, having its principle place of business at 1750 Brielle Avenue-Suite
2A, Ocean, NJ 07712, has extensive experience in the administration of workers'
compensation claims on behalf of the Borough of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, the Borough desires to appoint Allied Risk as the Borough's claims
services company for a term of one year to commence on January 1, 2002 through
December 31, 2002, or until a successor is appointed, in accordance with the
terms and conditions of the attached Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Attorney has reviewed this agreement and has
approved the same; and
WHEREAS, funds have been or will be appropriated to pay Allied Risk for the
administration of claims pursuant to said Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That Allied Risk Services, Inc., 1750 Brielle Avenue-Suite
2A, Ocean, NJ 07712, is hereby appointed the Borough's workers'
compensation claims service company for a period of one year to
commence on January 1, 2002, at an annual fee of $5,000.00 in
accordance with the terms and conditions of the attached
agreement.
2. That the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby authorized
to execute the attached Agreement on behalf of the Borough of
Carteret.
3. That a copy of the within resolution be sent to the Finance
Department along with the original and one copy of the attached
agreement, signed by the Mayor and Borough Clerk, for
forwarding to Allied Risk for execution and return to the Borough.

4. That this award of an insurance services/consulting contract
is made as an extraordinary, unspecifiable service and that a notice
of this award shalI be advertised as required by law.
