A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT WITH WILLDAN ENGINEERING FOR THE
DESIGN OF THE EXTENSION OF THE URBAN BICYCLE TRAIL IN THE AMOUNT OF
$57,347, PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER AUTHORITY TO APPROVE ADDITIONAL
SERVICES FOR UP TO 20% OF THE APPROVED AMENDMENT PRICE AND
APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF $68,816 FROM THE
UNAPPROPRIATED PROPOSITION C FUND
WHEREAS, on November 29, 2017, the State of California Natural Resources
notified the City that it received funding under the Urban Greening Grant Program in the
amount of$2,853,000; and
WHEREAS, on July 3, 2018, the City Council approved a contract with Willdan
Engineering in the amount of$183,000 for the design of the Urban Bicycle Trail ('Project");
and
WHEREAS, on July 3, 2018, the City Council approved a contract with Willdan
Engineering in the amount of$183,000 for the design of the Project; and
WHEREAS, the 2013 Lynwood Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Plan
includes a proposed bicycle route along Fernwood Avenue from Atlantic to Wright Road
and a bicycle lane along Bullis Road from Fernwood Avenue to Imperial Highway; and
WHEREAS, the extension of the bicycle trail enhances active transportation
options.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council approves the amendment to Willdan Engineering
Agreement for the design of the extension of the Lynwood Urban Bicycle Trail.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute the amendment
attached hereto as Exhibit A in an amount not to exceed $57,347 and in a form approved
by the City Attorney.
Section 3. That the City Council authorizes the City Manager to amend the
contract amendment compensation up to 20 percent of the contract amendment price.
Section 4. That the City Council authorizes the following appropriation:

Section 5 That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
