AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Two Hundred Fifty-five
Thousand Dollars ($255,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and
Construction Improvement Fund of University City to be used for project
costs for the construction of storm sewers in Burch Lane Storm Sewer
(2007086), in the City of University City, Missouri; and authorizing the
Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan
St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with XL Contracting, Inc.
for the aforesaid storm sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said storm sewer construction is Two
Hundred Thirty-four Thousand Nine Hundred Eight Dollars
($234,908.00) and the allowance for construction change orders and
other project expenses is Twenty Thousand Ninety-two Dollars
($20,092.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is
an unencumbered balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the
obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Two Hundred Fifty-five Thousand
Dollars ($255,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Operation,
Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of University City to
be used for project costs for the construction of storm sewers in Burch
Lane Storm Sewer (2007086), in the City of University City, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-
Treasurer are hereby authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis
Sewer District to enter into a contract with XL Contracting, Inc. as the
lowest responsible bidder for the construction of storm sewers in Burch
Lane Storm Sewer (2007086), in the City of University City, Missouri,
pursuant to bids received and opened on the 20th day of October 2008.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation
ordinance, shall take effect immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted December 11, 2008.
