AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Three Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars
($375,000.00) from the Operation, Maintenance and Construction Improvement Fund of Gravois
Creek to be used for project costs for the construction of storm sewers in Dickson Storm Sewer
Phase IIIA (2008046), in the City of Kirkwood, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director
and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a
contract with Heartland Construction & Excavating for the aforesaid storm sewer construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for said storm sewer construction is Three Hundred Forty
Thousand One Hundred Seventy Dollars ($340,170.00) and the allowance for construction
change orders and other project expenses is Thirty-Four Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty Dollars
($34,830.00), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Three Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars
($375,000.00) is hereby appropriated from the Operation, Maintenance and Construction
Improvement Fund of Gravois Creek to be used for project costs for the construction of storm
sewers in Dickson Storm Sewer Phase IIIA (2008046), in the City of Kirkwood, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with
Heartland Construction & Excavating as the lowest responsible bidder for the construction of
storm sewers in Dickson Storm Sewer Phase IIIA (2008046), in the City of Kirkwood, Missouri,
pursuant to bids received and opened on the 10th day of April 2009.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted June 11, 2009.
