AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars ($900,000.00)
from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for project costs for the construction of sanitary
sewers in Northland Lateral Sanitary Relief (SKME-310) (2003110) in the Cities of Jennings and
Ferguson and Unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive
Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter
into a contract with XL Contracting, Inc., Inc. for the construction of the aforesaid sanitary
sewers.
WHEREAS, the bid for the construction of said sanitary sewers is Eight Hundred
Thirty-Four Thousand Four Hundred Two and 82/100 Dollars ($834,402.82), and the allowance
for construction change orders and other project costs is Sixty-Five Thousand Five Hundred
Ninety-Seven and 18/100 Dollars ($65,597.18).
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars ($900,000.00) is
hereby appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for project costs for the
construction of sanitary sewers in Northland Lateral Sanitary Relief (SKME-310) (2003110) in
the Cities of Jennings and Ferguson and Unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with
XL Contracting, Inc., Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder for the construction of sanitary sewers
in Northland Lateral Sanitary Relief (SKME-310) (2003110) in the Cities of Jennings and
Ferguson and Unincorporated St. Louis County, Missouri, pursuant to bids received and opened
on the 21st day of July, 2009.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted September 10, 2009.
