AN ORDINANCE, appropriating Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000.00) from the
Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for project costs for the construction of storm sewers in
Manchester Avenue Combined Sewer Relief - Phase II (10078); in the City of St. Louis,
Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf of The
Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with Gershenson Const. Co., Inc.
for the aforesaid construction.
WHEREAS, the bid for the aforesaid construction is Two Million Two Hundred
Fifty Three Thousand One Hundred Twenty and 60/100 Dollars ($2,253,120.60), and the
allowance for construction change orders and other project expenses is Seven Hundred Forty Six
Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-Nine and 40/100 Dollars ($746,879.40), and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified that there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000.00) is hereby
appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for project costs for the
construction of storm sewers in Manchester Avenue Combined Sewer Relief - Phase II (10078);
in the City of St. Louis Missouri.
Section Two. The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into a contract with
Gershenson Const. Co., Inc. as the lowest responsible bidder for the construction of storm sewers
in Manchester Avenue Combined Sewer Relief - Phase II (10078); in the City of St. Louis
Missouri; pursuant to bids received and opened on the 9th day of November, 2010.
Section Three. This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted January 13, 2011.
